Joe Hotek


Joe Hotek, co-writer and director, is a Junior at the University of Iowa. Majoring in Cinema, his credits include various short documentaries, advertisements, and the occasional zombie flick. As a card carrying member of the Communist Party, Joe is probably on the Hollywood black list. He enjoys an ice-cold beer on a frosty day.

Darin Webb


Darin Webb, co-writer and director, is a Junior at the University of Iowa. Working toward a major in Cinema with a minor in Computer Science. Darin has worked on several short films throughout the past few years. This film represents his first His favorite film is Mel Brooks’ To Be or Not To Be, and is fond of brick-oven pizza.

David Philips


David Philips, playing the part of Brian, is a Senior at the University of Iowa in Cinema. Among his accomplishments are acting, blogging, directing, guitar-playing, rabble-rousing, and moustache-wearing. He refused to use prop alcohol in his scenes, and ingested nearly a pint of vodka and whiskey during shooting.

Amanda Pichler


Amanda Pichler, playing the part of Liz, is a freshman at the University of Iowa, majoring in Theatre and English Education. She’s been acting and directing for several years in various modes, from mime to improvisation. She likes egg nog and watching the puddles gather rain.

Brad Gasplin


Brad Gasplin, playing the part of Jack. Is an undecided sophomore at the University of Iowa. This is his first appearance in a Hotek & Webb production and his first acting experience.

Kris Johnson


Kris Johnson, is a blanketyblank at blanketyblank. An improvisational actor with several years of experience, he proved invaluable on this project. Though not appearing in the final film, he played the part of Liz's doppelganger, Lance, during the first day of shooting. Kris helped David finish what was left of that pint.
